Description

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of assistant accountant in all official assignments
  • Approval of petty cash transactions before disbursement of cash
  • Ensuring cash availability for all transactions and making sure that there is no downtime in the factory
  • Proactively attending to the sales team for cash, and other financial information
  • Posting of transactions (customer invoices/payments, bank/petty cash payments) into Sage50 accounting software of the company
  • Review of transactions into Sage50 accounting software of the company
  • Correction of transactions into Sage50 accounting software of the company by the assistant accountant
  • Ensuring effective and efficient banking transactions
  • Preparation of financial reports: weekly, monthly, quarterly, Bi-annual and annual based on existing company template and as per management requests
  • Preparation of staff salary for review by the internal auditor
  • Preparation of monthly sales commission
  • Ensuring prompt payment of staff PAYEE
  • Ensure completion of bank reconciliation of all banks before 10th of the following month
  • Manage all accounting operations based on accounting principles
  • Communicate staff of any information from management through internal memo/via E-mail
  • Update staff records accordingly on both Sage50 and individual staff file
  • Plan and carry out staff training from time to time
  • Attend to government agencies
  • Closely monitor expenses in line with the approved budget for the year.
  • Publish financial statements in time
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close process
  • Collect, analyze and summarize account information
  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns, balance sheet, profit/loss statement etc
  • Audit financial transactions and document accounting control procedures
  • Keep information confidential and secure them with random database backups
  • Keep up with financial policies, regulations and legislation
  • Attend critical management meetings and proffer useful ideas on moving the company forward.
